Turbo Installation Tips

  • Diagnose and fix any problems that caused the previous turbo to fail.

  • Change engine oil and filter as specified by the vehicles manufacturers.

  • Clean or replace air filters to prevent premature turbo failure.

  • Check and clean DPF and EGR.

  • Replace oil feed line (Keep receipt for warranty).

  • Remove all plastic plugs from turbo before installation.

  • Use new gaskets when installing. DO NOT USE SILICONE!

  • Prime turbo with new oil through oil inlet hole.

  • Make sure all oil and coolant levels are where they need to be.

  • Start car and let idle for 5-10 minutes.

  • Check installation for any leaks.

  • Once the turbo has been installed, perform a “Boost leak test” and check for any leaks. A boost leak can cause the turbo to over-speed causing damage over time.

  • After 20 operating hours or 1000Km, check for any leaks.
